Located on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Suez, approximately 280 kilometers south of Suez City, Al Tor Port holds a strategic position. Its coordinates are Latitude 28°14’ North and Longitude 33°37’. Covering an area of 100,000 square meters, with a sheltered yard spanning 5,600 square meters, the port serves as a crucial maritime hub in the region.
Al Tor Port primarily offers services in general cargo handling and maritime operations. The port’s infrastructure includes a key wall with a length of 75 meters, capable of handling a capacity of 380,000 tons annually. Prevailing winds in the area are typically northern and northwestern, with a water density of 1.040 g/cm³. The rainy season occurs during winter, and the tidal range and flow range from 1.3 to 2.3 meters. Additionally, future projects for Al Tor Port entail the implementation of measures outlined in the port master plan. This plan includes the development of an area spanning 464,000 square meters, to be executed in successive stages. It involves the construction of 1,000 meters of quay walls, offering water depths ranging from 10 to 12 meters, thus enhancing the port’s capacity and capabilities.
